Hi sis, what promises are you holding on to right now? I’m banking on a promise of inheritance from my Savior and I know it’s a sure deal.
Maybe right now you’re doing your best to stash monies away.
Your saving for a rainy day or your building earthly treasures so you can leave something behind for your loved ones.
Every single person is almost guaranteed of one thing once they are born.
One day you and I are going to die! The only way to escape death is to experience the rapture.
From the moment of our birth, we began to die.
One day I would like to leave behind a great amount of earthly and spiritual treasure; not just heavenly wisdom but treasure that will allow my children to progress in life.
You see, you can’t leave with any of the wealth you gather. It will all stay behind.
There is a way for you to build treasure in your eternal home and this is through your service on earth. God didn’t save us because of good works but he did so we can do good works. Everything for his honor and glory.
My life’s motto has been only what’s done for Christ will last.
I can’t leave with what I’ve built here on earth but I can build treasure in heaven.
In Matt.6:19-21, God admonishes us to lay up our treasures in heaven.
He even uses logical earthly terminology to get us to see the picture clearly.
- No thieves can break through and steal what’s ours.
- No moth or rust can corrupt it.
Our God has made us a wonderful inheritance of promise that he is still building and preparing until this very day.
Where does your heart lie?
Is it on earthly wealth and treasure that lasts for a season and will be left behind?
Or is it on your service to God?
Are you doing what he has called you told do so you can build heavenly treasures?
Our eternal promise of an inheritance is incorruptible and reserved for us.
This should encourage us not to be lazy in our work for the Lord but to do our very best knowing our labor is not in vain.
For where our treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Scripture for Today
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matt.6:19-21
Prayer for Today,
Dear Jesus,
I am grateful that I have a hope beyond the grave. Thank you for allowing me to develop treasure here on earth and also in heaven. You are an awesome provider. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
