I was doodling on a tiny piece of paper and not really paying attention to my surroundings. I knew that I was in church and that I had to be on my best behavior but no one but God knew if I was listening or not. While doodling, something that my dad said caught my attention.
He mentioned my name and I perked up. He said, I won’t enter into heaven because of who he or mom is, he said that I had to accept Jesus for myself. I listened to the sermon and that Sunday morning I was adopted into the family of God.
Ever since that time I have tried to be about my Father business, witnessing here, sharing my testimony there, allowing others to see Jesus through me but it’s really not enough.
God has commissioned us as believers to be witnesses for him. He let us know that the fields are ready to harvest but the laborers are few?
Do we want anyone to experience the terror of God? God loves us so much that he gave us a way out. We ought to be out and about telling our family, friends, and co-workers the good news.
Let them know that Jesus loves them; that he died to save them.
Warn them about the impending doom that is coming. It is no coincidence that the word ‘persuade’ is used in our key verse. To persuade means to gently encourage, to sway, to convince, to influence or to coax someone to see what you’re saying as truth.
Who have you encouraged? Pray that God would lay one soul on your heart and begin praying for their soul salvation, for opportunities to minister, and courage to persuade them to get to know Jesus.
When someone dies, there is no way that they will ever come back. This means, no one can ever tell you how to prepare for death.
We don’t know what to expect so we can’t prepare for it and it only happens to us once. Tell your loved one, warn your friends, remember to gently lead them to Christ with love. Remember, the rich man’s warning was too late.
Looking back at years gone by, we know that the terror of the Lord is closer than when we first began so time is of the essence.

Prayer for Today
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for saving me. Help me to be a witness for you and persuade men to come to know your saving grace. Help me to lovingly and effectively answer any question asked of my faith in you all for your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen
