Did you know that God has great plans for you? I’m sure you did but this is just a reminder.
Welcome to His Encouragement: Thankful Thursdays
Every Thursday I will be using scripture to bring you some encouragement along with other sister bloggers I have joined.
One of the most beloved passages in scripture can easily be Jeremiah.29:11.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God thinks about you and I. He has ordained the way in which your life will go.
On any given occasion your own thoughts may surprise you. You may be appalled that you thought about eating a cheat meal when your diet was going great and you can see results. Another time you may be shocked that you caught yourself on the verge of lusting.
Your thoughts towards yourself and others won’t be wholesome all the time, that’s just the way it will be because you are not perfect.
Even though you don’t think well of yourself all the time, God does. He not only thinks well of you but he has awesome plans for your present and future.
We can be tempted to look at this verse when everything is going well and it seems as though all our plans are just falling into place and trust in its goodness.
But, what about those times when the future is scary when nothing is seemingly working out and God appears to be silent and distant?
How will you know that this verse is still precious and true? Will they be great plans?
You have to trust the process, have faith in God’s plans, and believe that he knows what is best. When the rocky patches of life take your breath away, you can still rely on God to take you through. There will be times when you might not see God’s hand in your life and you will wonder if this is a part of the plan that he has for you. Be assured that it is, just take a look at the lives Moses, Daniel, the three Hebrew boys, Paul, and even Peter.
Almost every person whose story is told in the Bible all had to face those rocky patches that basically paved the way for them to arrive in the awesome, wholesome, and meaningful future that God prepared. Don’t lose hope, don’t throw in the towel, keep trusting in God and he will see you through.
The plans that he has for you are peaceful and not evil so that you can have hope and a future. God has great plans for you.
Is there a verse that’s encouraging you right now?
There is so much that we have to be thankful for today, besides the usual list is there something specific that you are thankful for?
Leave your answers in the comments below.
God bless you,
Keneesha 🙂
