What distinguishes mankind from the animal kingdom? We walk upright, our intelligence and the authority that God has given us over them. When we look at humans, however, there is only one thing that separates us from every other person on the planet, (dead or alive) and it’s our DNA. There is only one you.
I read a devotional the other day that talked about the fairness of love within a family with lots of children. It’s so easy for us to compare the way our parents love us with the way they love on our other siblings. Sometimes you can look at the way your teacher, pastor, uncle, boss or principal treats others in comparison to you and you forget that there is only one you.
The plans that God preordained for your life are uniquely yours. They can’t be given to anyone else. This means that the purpose he has for your life are yours. The blessings he has coming your way will not divert but come straight to you in his good timing.
We can get so hung up and bent out of shape because when we look at others, we think that God loves them more than us. But that’s not true, my friend. God loves us all equally. There can never be any favoritism in God because he is perfect. And perfection has no faults.
When you understand that you are unique and there is only one you; you will realize that this is your chance to shine!
There is no competition because all you can do is better yourself. When parents love their children, they observe them and look on as they grow so that they can love them based on what their character is.
Not every child wants to read a book as a reward and not every child wants to play outside with their friends. Just as parents know how to reward their children, it’s the same with God, who knows exactly what vessel he wants to mold you into. So, when you see Jenny married with kids at the age of 25 and you’re still single, please know that, that’s not the only way it should go…
Your story will be great because it’s uniquely yours. No one else can claim any part of your life. And when God looks down on you, he isn’t confused, he knows exactly where you are and where you are going.
When he fashioned you into the fearfully and wonderfully made person you are, he knew there would be only one you and he did a very good job.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all you have done for me. You have fashioned and formed me in your image with no other replicas. You have planned and orchestrated everything that makes me, me. There is now and will be only one me, help me to give you glory in everything I do. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
