Isaiah 40:31- “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

“Waiting time is never wasted time.” I once heard a preacher say this. And it is so true.

When God calls you to wait, it is not happenstance. God knows exactly what we need when we need it. But it can be difficult when we are waiting.

What are you waiting for today?

Are you waiting for love, a job, a raise, answers to prayer, healing?

Whatever it is that you are waiting for, the answer is coming.

Time on earth is fleeting, today we are here and today we can be gone. When I celebrate a birthday there is usually an accurate time that I do so.

I can’t get mixed up with the month or day and decide that another year has been added to my life. Time only exists here on earth because one day it will come to an end.

God knows how much time you have, and he knows how long you have been waiting. He doesn’t deal with time the way that we do. We keep a record with a clock and a calendar.

With God, 1000 years is like 1 day and 1 day is like 1000 years. (2 Peter 3:8) If Jesus died on Calvary’s cross 2000 thousand years ago it could be said that only 2 days have passed.

When you realize the God you serve doesn’t look at time like we do, you can understand why months and years can pass without your prayers being answered.

Only rely on God

You may feel that you can pursue anything without God’s help. Maybe you may even succeed. But everyone gets weary at some time. Even the youth can’t keep up forever. One day your strength will fail you.

We all have to stop at some point and rest.

Everything that’s happening in the world right now, is out of our control. It is out of the world leader’s control. The only one that we can rely on is God. In the face of difficulty, when storms arise, we can turn to the one that will give us wings like eagles.

When your lungs are hurting and you’re gasping for air when things are happening around you and you feel helpless, that’s when Christ will give you strength. His strength is perfected in your weakness.

He is ready and willing to help you because he wants you to rely on him. Every time that you get tired of waiting, he will infuse you with renewed strength. Your faith and trust in him will enable you to soar with wings like eagles.

Sometimes you have to close your eyes, quiet your fears, and ignore your thoughts as you fall back into the arms of Jesus.

When you feel like fainting as you run your Christian race, he will replenish your energy. Don’t give up while waiting on God, his timing is impeccable. God’s got you.

How has the key verse helped you during times of waiting? Let me know in the comments.
