Do you love a good romance movie or book? One that captures your attention, makes you laugh, cry, and shout? Yes, I do too. The long list of romantic movies and books all have one thing in common: the heroine and the hero fall in love and they usually live happily ever after.

But did you know that you are already a part of the greatest love story that will be ever told? You play the significant role of the bride. In addition, you have the opportunity to be loved by the perfect, handsome creator of our souls. Jesus loves you so much that he sacrificed himself so that you can go scotch free.

1 John.4:9-10- “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

He sacrificed himself for you. Do you see how you are a part of this great love story?

So many of us want to be caught up in the American Dream of love. We want the charming husband, adorable child/ children, and the idyllic house with a red door and a white picket fence.

But what we don’t realize is that we are a part of a more excellent story.

Let me point out to you the limitations the American dream offers:

  1. You won’t live forever
  2. Our children will grow up and leave the nest
  3. You will have disagreements with our husband/wife
  4. Our idyllic home can be destroyed by natural and manmade disasters
  5. You are not immune to the wear and tear that happens while living here on earth

I hope you can see what I am trying to show you because once you realize that you are a part of the greatest love story ever told you will see just how limiting the joys of being on earth are.

I know exactly what I am banking on and where my treasures lie and it is in the lover of my soul. The one who will never stop loving me.  He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me. My rock of ages, the one on whom I can always depend.

Jesus.

Oh, how sweet his name, and I’m just falling in love with Him all over again. Aren’t you?

the greatest love story ever told

Human Love

Remember Adam? Adam was the first man God created in His own image. When he formed him he said that what he had fashioned was not just good but very good. And he thinks the same about you today.

Do you ever notice the effort that you put in to make a good impression when you go on a date? You may buy a new outfit, take your time putting on makeup, get a new hairstyle, have a manicure and pedicure and some of you may even wear heels for the first time.

The beautiful thing about Jesus’ love for us is that it is not conditional. You don’t have to dress up to receive his love. There is no need to lose weight and you don’t have to take off your acne cream correcting spots to meet with him.

Because he knows you. He created you and he loves you. Just the way you are. You can be your regular vulnerable self around him because he loves you forever.

I don’t think we take time to meditate on the fact that there is nothing we can ever do to diminish the love he has for us. His love is perfect, unfailing, unconditional, sacrificial, all-consuming, and big so much that he can’t love you any more than he already does or less.

How many times have you been disappointed by the way someone like your parent, husband, or boyfriend responded to something you did?

You may have made a mistake or said something that you regret and the way that they responded was not with love.

That’s the thing, we will never find perfection on earth and it certainly won’t come from our earthly relationships. This is why we can bask in being a part of the greatest love story because when God corrects we can still feel his love. We have no reason to doubt that he stills loves us because he always will.

This post is directed to Christian women but believing women knew of his love even before they believed. It was most likely the love that he displayed that led them to the foot of the cross.

If you are reading this post and you are not a believer know that God loves you too. Just like he loves everyone else and you can become a part of the greatest love story.

However, it’s time to get closer to the lover of your soul by accepting him as your Lord and Savior. The sacrifice he made was for you.

Dear Heavenly Father,
