Without faith, it is impossible to please God. That is not just a scripture verse worth repeating although it is. It is the truth revealed to us. There is a tremendous power to be found in the life of the believer and it all begins with faith.

God didn’t leave us powerless or helpless here on earth. He gave us the Holy Spirit and he left us with faith.

Throughout Jesus’ earthly ministry, he taught the disciples to have faith in God. He wanted them to know the power that faith brought into their life. Faith was going to be what the disciples fully relied on when Jesus returned to heaven. This is why they had to go through many tests.

Faith isn’t something that is optional for the believer, we are required to have it. You need to believe in who Jesus is and what he did in order to receive salvation. There is a certain measure of faith that is necessary. Who can claim to be a daughter of God without faith?

Satan knows that God is real, he has seen and communed with him. He has a lot of faith in His existence. But he doesn’t have saving faith. He just has a surface level belief.

What about you? Have you tapped into the power of faith? Did you even realize the power that you are sitting on? Jesus said that mustard seed faith would be able to move mountains.

If there was a barometer in which you could measure your level of faith, what would it read? If it were on a scale of 1 to 10 would you have enough to move mountains, to make intercessory prayer on someone’s else behalf, or to get the attention of God?

In every aspect of Christendom faith is needed.

The power of faith in your life

As a daughter of the King of kings, your life should be a reflection of your faith in God. I remember when I was in my last year of high school. I was standing outside of the office waiting for my results.

My anxiety was hidden in my heart while my face showed confidence. I didn’t think that my results would be good and truthfully, they weren’t good to me.

I went through high school with a lackadaisical attitude and didn’t do my best. However, two of my classmates came up to me (boys) and they said something that I would never forget.

The secretary came to the door and handed me my paper and I had to look at it before carrying it to my parents. When I looked up one of them said, “I bet you passed all your subjects, as a Christian, God would bless you like that.”

I don’t know if it was a compliment or it was sarcasm but I do know that he encouraged me. He didn’t know that it made my heart glad to be recognized as a believer that has faith in God.

He didn’t believe that he would experience the same results because he knew that he didn’t have Jesus on his side. But I did and I passed all the subject areas that I took.

The power of faith in your life doesn’t just apply to the example I gave, it applies to your job-seeking, financial difficulties, and even the decisions that you make.

Your life should reflect your unwavering faith in Jesus in every situation that you face because it will be rewarded.

When Mary the mother of Jesus, approached the servant and told them to do whatever Jesus tells them to do, she was exercising faith. She didn’t know if he would do anything. Mary didn’t even know if the servants would listen to her or to Jesus, but Jesus’ first miracle happened because of the power of faith that was evident in Mary’s life.

Mary had faith that Jesus was able to do the extraordinary. She didn’t wait to see if he would do it, she went back to the wedding reception and waited for the miracle to unfold. Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine because of Mary’s faith in who He was.

Can people look at your life, your accomplishments, answered prayers, and say that you are a woman of faith?Click To Tweet

No one but God knows you better than you, so look at every aspect of your life and evaluate if the life you are living displays faith in Jesus. If it doesn’t its time to make a change. However, if it does there is always room to improve.

The power of faith in your home.

Not only do you need to display faith in your life, but it should also be on display in your home. The hardest place to live the Christian life is in your home, with your friends, family, and neighbors.

If I were to question your family or children about your faith, what would they say? Do you practice what you preach?

Are you placing your trust and confidence in your job and its paycheck? What happens when you lose a job, does your faith waver?

The life that you live in your home is important.

My dad is a man of faith. He has given me numerous stories where God came through for him in situations that would baffle your mind. Sometimes he would get a check when he wasn’t expecting it. Other times he would lose support from someone he was depending on for a long time. And every time God would raise someone up or give him a blessing to fill the need.

My dad lives by faith in everything he did and he has proved God over and over again. As his child, I know that faith works. And as a mother, I will strive to cultivate a home of faith. One where my daughter can see that God is real.

What changes will you make in your home? Will you let your husband lead as God leads him? Are you going to trust in God’s provision when bills are due?

The power of your faith will allow you to have a tremendous testimony. God wants to work in your life, live in such a way that your faith changes the life of your family.

The power of faith in your church

Did you know that unbelievers are looking at the church? I’m not talking about the universal church made up of all believers, I’m writing about the local church that you are a member of.

The world can tell when a church has faith and one that doesn’t. All they need is one visit. They can make an observation and see the way that the church operates and determine if God is with you.

When disaster strikes, when finances are low, when a member is in trouble the church should step in. Not all churches are financially stable, but it shouldn’t stop God’s work from going forward.

When a sister or brother in Christ is facing a terrible illness the faith of the church is critical to prayer.

The church cannot operate as though there is no hope. What will be the point if there is no faith? Why should we meet if we can’t receive encouragement from one another?

I can recall a sister in Christ saying to the church, don’t pray for me if you’re not going to pray believing that God would heal me. She is correct. When we come together as a local body of Christ, as we make requests one for another, we should pray with faith. Pray with power, believing that God would heal and answer.

There are times when prayer for recovery is futile because situations can be too far gone. At those times it is time to let go and let God have his way. But when the outcome is not known and there is hope, pray in the power of faith.

The church that you attend, would you say that their faith is strong? What about your pastor? You can pray that God would increase the faith in your church. Maybe you can suggest to your pastor to do a series on faith and its power.

When you fellowship with those who have a strong faith in Jesus it will rub off on you.

If you are a part of a church that believes in and exercises faith, you are blessed.

Think about these things

Faith is necessary for the believer and it can be like a gold mine that we have yet to tap into. You won’t know the power of faith until you rely totally on Jesus.

He knows best, just let him handle all the situations that you are struggling with. The more you utilize faith, the more trust you exercise in God.

When Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, he stepped out in faith. He actually walked on water because he trusted in Jesus.

That my friend, is the power of faith and it is available to you today. All you have to do is believe in what you cannot see. God can see what’s ahead and that’s all that matters.
